Lectures, part of a continuing series, introduce the permanent collection and selected exhibitions on view at the Kimbell Art Museum and provide background on the traditions underlying the major schools of art.

March 10-12, 2017, 7:30pm, (2pm Sun) Bass Hall. Re-mastered clips from great movie musicals of Rodgers & Hammerstein, with original vocals and live soundtrack. Oklahoma!, The King and I, South Pacific, and Carousel. Songs like Shall We Dance, If I Loved You, and Some Enchanted Evening sung by original stars and accompanied by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

May 25 - June 10, 2017, Bass Hall. Preliminary - 30 competitors, 45-minute recital to include 4-5 min Marc-André Hamelin commissioned work. Quarterfinal - 20 competitors/ 45-min recital. Semifinal - 12 competitors: Mozart concerto w/ FWSO/ conductor Nicholas McGegan + 60-min recital. Final - 6 competitors piano quintet w/ Brentano String Quartet + Concerto/ FWSO/ Leonard Slatkin.
