Boston Gender Free Contra Dance

Ongoing, at First Church in Jamaica Plain, at the corner of Centre and Eliot Streets. Second and 4th Saturdays Sept-June and 4th Saturday in July. See website for dates, callers and bands. Dances normally run 7:30-1pm, usually $10, students $6, or less/what you can afford. Guest callers welcome the first dance after the break. Boston LGBT Film Festival 2015

April 2-12, 2015. Annual LGBT film fest. This past year with over 120 films, 11 days of screenings at locations across Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge: Museum of Fine Arts, (465 Huntington Ave), Brattle Theatre (by Harvard Square, Cambridge), and Fenway Health Center (Boylston St, Boston). Leonardo da Vinci and the Idea of Beauty

April 15 - June 14, 2015, MFA Torf Gallery (Gallery 184). Master drawings by da Vinci and Michelangelo. Includes study of an angel, called by Kenneth Clark “the most beautiful…in the world,” plus the rarely displayed Codex on Flight, one of Leonardo’s most perceptive scientific explorations, with a nearly hidden self-portrait of himself as a young man.

May 3, 2015, 10am, Tosca at the Coolidge Cinema, 290 Harvard St, Brookline. Pierre Audi directs a new production of this violent and passionate work for the Paris Opera. Coming up: May 31st - Show Boat, a San Francisco Opera production of the true classic of American musical theater, a tale of life on the Mississippi from the 1880s to the 1920s.

May 9, 2015, 7pm at W Hotel. BGMC's signature fundraiser! Not a stuffy gala - all about having fun and supporting the Chorus. Nearly 20% of their annual budget comes from this one event. This year's special guest: Bianca del Rio - the self-proclaimed "clown in a dress" and Season 6 winner of Ru Paul's Drag Race, in performance. Plus live and silent auction.
