The 9th annual festival screenings of feature-length and short LGBT films produced in 2011-2012 from France, USA, Canada, Hungary/Croatia, Germany, England, Sweden, and Israel --in original languages with French or English subtitles. December 8 each year. Lyon becomes the Capital of Lights as streets are lit up on the final day. Believing the city was saved from a 1643 plague by the Virgin Mary, the city in 1852 erected a statue to her, and the city lit up with candles in citizens' windows. 4-day events incude colored illumination of the Basilica of Fourvière, fireworks, and Place des Terreaux light shows.
