Set in a northern mining town against the background of the 1984 miners' strike, the inspirational story of a boy's struggle against the odds to make a dream come true. Eleven-year-old Billy discovers he prefers a ballet class to his boxing lessons, but boys doing ballet becomes an issue for his macho father and brother.
