Nature preserve with lakes, gorges, valleys, mountain peaks and picturesque villages. Activities include; hiking, camping, mountain-biking, rock climbing, horse and donkey rides; swimming, fishing, and watersports at three lakes (Lac de Laouzas, Lac de la Raviège and Lac des Saints Peyres). Diverse vegetation span Mediterranean to mountain climates. Native fauna include Mouflon wild sheep, Bonelli eagles, otters and genets.

From Montpellier head west to Ceyras, just east of the park. Continue west to Saint-Pons-de-Thomières, approximately at the center of the park, for the Musée de la préhistoire régionale and a tourist information office. North of here are lakes to the east and west of the village La Salvetat-sur-Agout. The gorges of the Colombière are located about 10 km from Lamalou les Bains. Olargues, a medieval village with a twelfth century castle and a maze of small alleys, overlooks the Le Jaur river. See maps and information at their website:

L'Espiguette Beach is a naturist beach on the Mediterranean coast, extending 15km between the town of Grau-du-Roi and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer/ Parc Naturel Régional de Camargue. Its large area of dunes, some as high as ten meters, are interspersed with dense vegetation, and very busy with guys looking to play around. From the airport, beyond the town of Pérols, take the road south to La Grande-Motte, then east to Grau-du-Roi, past the Seaquarium there. Follow the signs to Espiguette, beyond the camping areas, to a large parking lot. From there the clothing-optional zone is to the left (southeast), with a walk of about twenty minutes through the family zone, before you reach the gay section. Food and water can be bought at local shops in the towns along the way.
