November 18+19, 2016. Festival welcomes all types of burlesque, variety and fringe entertainment including cabaret, singing, sideshow, magic, circus, drag, solos, duos and groups; all performers who identity as male when they perform on stage - male burlesque performers, Drag Kings, and Trans-men. Also female-identified performers submitting a "male eccentric act."
December 10 - 26, 2016 at Overture Hall. Dazzling classic for the holiday season. Follow Clara and her Nutcracker as they travel through swirling snowflakes to a colorful garden filled with characters to delight the young and young-at-heart. Madison Ballet + the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Andrew Sewell. Score: Tchaikovsky. Choreography: W. Earle Smith.
December 16-29, 2016 at the Bartell Theatre. Dorothy, whisked from a Wisconsin Dells waterpark on a waterspout, ends up in Oz and meets all the characters of literature and films, with a few twists. Panto style, men dress as women, women dress as men, some people dress as animals, and flying critters have a definite Wisconsin connection. Silly song parodies, slapstick humor, corny jokes.
