December 7-10, 2017. Lyon becomes the Capital of Lights. Believing the city was saved from a 1643 plague by the Virgin Mary, the city erected her statue in 1852, and the city lit up with candles in windows. 4-day events include colored illumination of Basilica of Fourvière, fireworks, + place des Terreaux light show.
Early March, 2018, 7-day LGBT film festival, New Queer Cinema, one of Frances most important festivals, at The Comœdia permanent screening room, special sessions at the Institut Lumière in 3 libraries, the Goethe Institute, Cine Mourguet and Washtub Public! Mid-March, 2018 at Tignes Ski Resort, France, near the Italian border. Skiing, snowboarding, aprés-ski hot tubs, gay film festival, DJs/ dance parties and after hours, cabaret, piano bar, games evenings, cocktail parties, pool party in "Le Lagon" and more.
