Series of film screenings that explore the past, present and future of queer cinema, with attention to titles that encourage discourse. Each title presented as a special event, with introduction + post-film discussion where possible, with director/cast or with academics, or simply great fans of the work. At the Duke of York's Picturehouse and Dukes at Komedia, Brighton.
May 6 - June 5, 2016. Committed to helping the arts flourish, completely open-access -anyone can put on a Brighton Fringe event- no selection criteria imposed. New and established performers try out new works and take risks. Also workshops, mentoring and bursary programs. Past year saw 787 events at 174 venues. Low price tickets at average cost of £8.80; over 150 free shows.
May 19-30, 2016, at various locations - local producers, growers, restaurants, bars, retailers showcase the fantastic food, drink and hospitality to be found in the city and surrounding Sussex. Includes the Sussex and the World Weekend at Hove Lawns. See also events in August.
June 3, 2016, 7:45pm at the Theatre Royale. Two near-naked men (wearing shoes) manipulate their nether regions using the Ancient Art of Genital Origami, providing a hilarious array of shapes and impersonations, projected onto a huge video screen. Fresh from Las Vegas, the show thrills audiences with the Eiffel Tower, the Lochness Monster, the Pelican and the iconic Hamburger.
May 7-29, 2016, Annual celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus, art, film, literature, debate, outdoor + family events, in venues both familiar and unusual across Brighton/ Hove for 3 weeks in May. England's largest annual event of its kind attracts some of the best artists and companies, and most adventurous audiences, from the UK and the world. Guest Director TBA.

July 9-10, 2016 (TBC), annual free public event from 11am, at Stanmer Park near University of Sussex. World class flyers of all forms and shapes, from miniature single line kites through team displays. Food and drinks stalls on site. See website for more.
