These include: African American Arts Institute choral ensemble; Auditorium, IU Broadway touring companies; Ballet Theater productions; Jacobs School of Music festivals; Opera Theater classics and premieres; Theatre, Drama & Contemporary Dance. August 27, 2016. The third annual Summerfest in the heart of Bloomington, Indiana! Event kicks off with a walking parade on the B-Line noon-2pm and the festival will be a 2-11pm celebration of queer people and allies in Bloomington. See website for more of this year's plans.
January 26-28, 2017, at the the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, the 14th annual festival screenings and discussions to explore a wide variety of issues & situations that involve the LGBTQ communities. June 3, 2017 (TBC), 10am-8pm, Owen County Courthouse, Spencer. Admission-free rural LGBTQI pride festival. The smallest Midwest town with large Pride. Typically 1500 people attend; small-town family-friendly, all-inclusive atmosphere. Live, all-day ENTERTAINMENT, guest host Suzanne Westenhoefer. MARKETPLACE FESTIVAL FOOD, RAFFLES, PET PRIDE PARADE, 50/50, FAMILY ACTIVITIES, HIV TESTING.
June 17, 2017 (TBC), 3-11 pm at Showers Common, next to Bloomington City Hall. Dozens of Bloomington’s best restaurants, wineries and breweries, plus live musical entertainment, for a festival atmosphere -- one of the best weekends of the year to be in Bloomington.
