Tribal chiefs and kings, family portraits, archaic scenes in nature, and idealized warriors: clichéd images and stereotypical depictions of an exotic Africa seen through Western eyes. The emergence of photography in the nineteenth century allowed a curious public far from the colonies to cast their gaze on the African continent.
April 18 - August 16, 2015. Volcanic landscapes, arctic ice, meandering river canyons, mountains in mist, primordial rainforests, endless sand dunes – a visual homage to a blue planet in opulent black-and-white photographs. Large format photographic series from expedition of several years aims to heighten people’s awareness of precious, last untouched corners of the earth.

May 22-25, 2015, annual celebration of cultural & ethnic diversity of Berlin in Kreuzberg: Sunday Parade from Hermannplatz, street festival, entertainment stages, international bands, stiltwalkers, acrobats, magicians (visitors test their own abilities & skills). About 300 market stalls, food of many lands, arts & crafts and much more.
May 29-31, 2015, at Arena Park, Eichenstraße 4 and Art Village, Flughafen Templehof. The city’s best features: unique music, culture and art. Genre barriers are torn down/ redefined as techno flirts with hip hop, Arthouse with cabaret, high fashion with street wear, street food with haute cuisine and classical music with club culture - 10th anniversary top international acts.

Early August, 2015 LadyFest events Spinoff alternative women’s/ trans festival takes hands-on, open-to-all approach to entertainment. Last year included: a vegan barbecue at the Tempelhofer Feld, film nights, concerts, parties and live music, plus drumming lessons and haircuts.

October 9-18, 2015 annual event. Berlin icons including TV tower and Brandenburg Gate lit up, made into backgrounds for projections. The city is transformed into a stage and the landmarks, monuments, buildings, streets and squares become the stars. National and international artists, designers and creative teams tell their stories.
February 4-14, 2016 (to be confirmed). Berlin’s largest cultural event, one of most important film industry dates. Around 400 films shown, most either world or European premieres - every genre, length, format, from 128 countries; 300,000 tickets sold; art, glamour, parties & business deals.
February 12 2016 (to be confirmed). Berlinale awards ceremony honors best feature film, best documentary, and best short film in queer cinema. Variety stage show with stars from all over the world, followed by the TEDDY Party, probably the best party of the Berlinale. March 22-29, 2016 (to be confirmed), Easter Weekend, Berlin Leder and Fetisch annual event. Europe's biggest Leather/Fetish Week of the year includes the German Mr Leather contest/ mega party on Easter Sunday with hottest fetish hunks, go-go boys, porn stars, total-darkness room, top international DJs.
