Limanakia - Rocky waterfront for nudists and gay cruising, by Vouliameni Lake. Take express bus E22 from Academia in Saronida direction, get off at the third stop in Limanakia. Follow trails from the parking lot canteen, across rocks to the sea. The gay-frequented area covers 3 coves between south suburbs of Vouliagmeni and Varkiza. No sand here, dive into the water from the rocks where naked men tan. Bring drinking water to make it until sunset when it gets even more cruisy.

Mavro Lithari - Three small beaches below the roadside guard-rails along Athens to Sounion road, after Saronida park just past the hotel there, and walk looking for steps leading down to the water.

Panorama - Popular beach on Athens to Corinth road. Turn right after third tunnel at Kinetta-Panorama exit, bear left and park along the road. Walk to the beach, go left about 20 minutes and look for people just beyond the Sun Hotel.

Ramrounta - One of best nudist beaches in Athens area, near the archaeological site, take road right in direction of Limnionas, just before the village of Grammatiko.

Riba's - Below the rocks at Riba's after Varkiza, on Athens to Sounio road. Popular nude beach, open sand but difficult access.

Athens is full of museums and galleries. Major collections include: the National Archeological Museum near Omonia; the National Art Gallery, on Michalakopoulou; the New Acropolis Museum by the Acropolis; the Benaki and Cycladic Art Museums in Kolonaki; the Agora Museum near Monastiraki; and the Kanellopoulos and Folk Art Museums in Plaka.

Over 2,500 shops of every kind can be found at the historic commercial center of this ancient city, especially around the main strip of Ermou Street (one of Europe's top five most expensive shopping streets). The Byzantine Church of Panaghia Kapnikarea is in a small square, at the east end.

The pedestrian-friendly Athinas Street with its many food options, can seem like a Middle East bazaar around the Monastiraki district in narrow streets where the city’s traditional bazaar, the Yousouroum Flea Market, is held. The Varvakeios Municipal Market, the oldest of its kind in Athens, is lined with meat, fish and vegetables stalls. Metro Line 1 runs beneath the full length of the street, accessible at the Monastiraki and Omonoia stations. Kotzias Square and the neoclassical Town Hall building are nearby.
