New film by Cynthia Lucas shows the Master of Nonviolence at the end of his life, on the brink of attaining his lifelong goal of freedom from the British but with his heart breaking by the partition of India and the terrible communal violence that is killing untold thousands. Having led masses in nonviolent marches, Gandhi now walks alone for unity and peace.
May 25, 2017, 7pm at Tivoli. James faces suicide. From the outside this young man appears to live the American dream, but within finds no desire to continue his life. Deciding to travel to the Amazon rain forest to save himself, not knowing the dangers that lie ahead, he uses plants and searches for a Shaman, looking for the deeper understandings that lead to an acceptance of himself.
