Boston Gender Free Contra Dance

Ongoing, at First Church in Jamaica Plain, at the corner of Centre and Eliot Streets. Second and 4th Saturdays Sept-June and 4th Saturday in July. See website for dates, callers and bands. Dances normally run 7:30-1pm, usually $10, students $6, or less/what you can afford. Guest callers welcome the first dance after the break. Pure Souls: The Jain Path to Perfection

Ongoing - November 30, 2014, the MFA. Paintings made for Jainism followers, a religion that emerged alongside Buddhism in the 6th century BC. Among the most visually striking of Indian art. Large, colorful maps of the cosmos, depictions of Jain saints, early illustrated manuscripts, cloth paintings, embroidered book covers, sculptures and sacred Sanskrit syllable meditation images.

April 2-12, 2015. Annual LGBT film fest. This past year with over 120 films, 11 days of screenings at locations across Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge: Museum of Fine Arts, (465 Huntington Ave), Brattle Theatre (by Harvard Square, Cambridge), and Fenway Health Center (Boylston St, Boston).
