Chopin’s 2nd Piano Concerto examplifies how the solo piano may perfectly intertwine with the orchestra. Franck’s D minor Symphony is a richly woven tapestry of emotion and music. August 3-5, 2017, Diana Wortham Theatre at Pack Place, downtown Asheville. Since 1928, mountain fiddlers, banjo pickers, dulcimer sweepers, dancers, balladeers and others have come to enjoy themselves “along about sundown” the first weekend in August at the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival -- “along about sundown.”
