Festival of Lights
Fête des Lumières 2016

December 8-11, 2016. Lyon becomes the Capital of Lights. Believing the city was saved by the Virgin Mary from a 1643 plague, the city erected a statue to her in 1852, and the city lit up with candles in windows. 4-day events include colored illumination of Basilica of Fourvière, fireworks, + place des Terreaux light show. This year in tribute to victims of Paris terror attacks.
7th Annual New Queer Cinema
Écrans Mixtes 2017

March, 2017 (TBC), LGBT film festival, New Queer Cinema, one of Frances most important festivals, at The Comœdia permanent screening room, special sessions at the Institut Lumière in 3 libraries, the Goethe Institute, Cine Mourguet and Washtub Public! March, 2017 (TBC) at Tignes Ski Resort, France, near the Italian border. Skiing, snowboarding, aprés-ski hot tubs, gay film festival, DJs/ dance parties and after hours, cabaret, piano bar, games evenings, cocktail parties, pool party in "Le Lagon" and more.
