February 9-13, 2018, the all-gay edition of Mardi Gras runs all weekend; non-stop parties/balls; the French Quarter coronation of the King Cake Queen. Gay balls begin in January. Bourbon Pub is at the center, open 24 hours/7 days a week. Mardi Gras Parades fill the streets Tuesday February 13, 2018.
February 13, 2018, 10am-2pm, from Bud Rip's, 900 Piety St. Known for their elaborate/ beautiful costumes, the core group gathers in the Bywater neighborhood each Mardi Gras morning, with the music by the Storyville Stompers brass band. Passing through the Faubourg Marigny and the French Quarter, the parade is joined by additional marchers in costume.

PAST YEAR at Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Dr. featured The Big Bad Preservation Hall Brass Band, Rosin Coven and Vau de Vire Society, Delachaux and The Klown (TRAPEZE), Aurora Nealand and The Royal Roses, The G-String Orchestra, New Orleans Circus, Burlesque and Variety Show, art (on fire!), circus, music, theatre, dancing, costumes, games, food/libations.
