Special events throughout year; medieval jousting, midsummer Shakespeare evenings, August Medieval Mêlée, Victorian Christmas. Sights, sounds, smells of Castle life of 700 years ago, colorful tents. Characters cook, weave, knights prepare for battle and cross swords; falconry displays, sword fighting school, archery, armour try-ons, and juggling classes.

Gwent Music Summer Showcase Concert

July 7, 2014, 7pm, at St Andrew's Hall, Featuring ensembles from across the four local authorities of Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. The concert will include an array of talent varying from Big Beat African Drumming, Folk Groups, Massed Choirs and Greater Gwent Youth Ensembles.

Cardiff International Food & Drink Festival

July 11-13, 2014, at Cardiff Bay. The foodie event of the summer returns with the famous Producer's Fayre and Farmers' Market. Visitors can explore a variety of stalls offering an array delicious food to tempt the taste buds, or just grab a drink and relax on the Food Piazza while enjoying the entertainment on the bandstand.

Cardiff Harbour Festival 2014

August 23- 25, 3014, Roald Dahl Plass & Cardiff Bay. The Extreme 40 fleet returns to the Welsh Capital. International teams with the best professional sailor's race in Cardiff Bay. Using the circuit's ‘stadium sailing' format the intense competition with 40ft catamarans battling each other at breakneck speed can be viewed from all around the waterfront. Free event.
