Legendary club kids, DJs, queer punks, DIY fashionistas, nightlife promoters and club owners share 1980s-90s stories of nightlife before the Internet; clubs like Uranus, The Stud, the Box, The Eagle, Colossus, Universe. Outfits/items/looks from personal collections and GLBTHS Archives highlight how a resilient nightlife scene helped weather the darkest AIDS years.

Exploring contemporary queer issues in a historical context, focusing on struggles and successes of lesbians in relationship to history, the LGBTQ community and Bay Area coalition building. Historians, community organizers and advocates explore how lesbian identity and community have evolved, and how this history can help inform today’s resistance movements.

Mid-June, 2019, the 43rd edition annual 11-day event at Castro Theatre - the longest-running and largest gay film festival in the world. Ongoing series includes free films at Frameline at the Center, 1800 Market Street at 7:30pm, second Thursdays of select months.
June 22-23, 2019. Climaxing a month of events. SAT noon-6pm Celebration and Rally at Civic Center Plaza. Main stage inspirational speakers and performers. Over 200 exhibitors w/ wide variety of artists, local/ national businesses, nonprofits, artisans; food and beverage vendors. SUN 11am-6pm Parade, Market/Beale to Market/8th St. Past year saw 271 contingents, 50,000 people participate.

Annual street festival, the first Sunday of October, with hundreds of local artists, vendors, craftspeople, and organizations celebrate the diversity of the Castro neighborhood. Stages with live entertainment and dance pavilions too. Proceeds go directly to charitable causes important to the Castro community, and for the rainbow flag at Castro and Market.
Early November, 2019. The world's largest annual LGBT country-western dance weekend. Four nights of dance parties. Three days of dance workshops. Hundreds of cowfolks. One amazing weekend of events at Regency Center, 1300 Van Ness Ave; Sundance Saloon; and Golden Gateway Holiday Inn, 1500 Van Ness Ave. A fundraising benefit for AIDS and Breast Cancer Emergency Funds.
November - December, 2019.
