From a conflicted city at the edge of financial crisis, images of raw energy taken at derelict warehouses of West Side Manhattan piers, document the 1973 underground gay culture that flourished along the Hudson River. With his sense of drama, Baltrop instilled the scenes, populated by dealers, hustlers, sunbathers, cruisers, and sex participants, with humanity.
