April 17 - July 27, 2021 at Cannstatter Wasen Stuttgart, Mercedesstraße. Europe’s biggest spring beer festival, the little brother of the Cannstatter Volksfest with funfair, Beer gardens and food tents at the festival grounds, and partying in the clubs - also flea markets and fireworks displays - a major tourist attraction.

July 10, 2021, at Höhenpark in Killesberg: famous annual fireworks display, lanterns strung along the lakefront, fairground rides, music, food, wine and beer. FB

September 1-5, 2021. Annual International LGBTQ+ Film Festival. Past year's program: 18 films. 12 of them seen exclusively in the cinema, another 6 films - including a short film program - were shown as online premieres. Included are highlights from Cannes, Venice, Sundance and the Berlinale. With few exceptions, the films shown were German premieres. See:

September 24 - October 10, 2021, annual festival; 17 days of carnival. Ferris Wheel, chairoplane, bumper cars, white-water rafting, seven marquees, two wine tents, numerous beer gardens and snack bars with schwaebisch foods, German kuchen and more.

February 28 - March 4, 2022. Rose Monday, Shrove Tuesday, at eastern edge of Black Forest, between Stuttgart & Lake Constance, among oldest of Swabian-Alemannic 'Fasnet'. Processions, hypnotic chants, grotesque masks, vaulting cobblestones & "jumping of the fools."
