Monet and the Impressionist Revolution, 1860–1910

Ongoing through March 20, 2016, at the 1962 Building. Monet embraced the unpredictability of nature. With this, he broke away from linear perspective, refined forms, and other techniques associated with the synthesized style of academic painting.

PechaKucha Buffalo

April 14, 2016, 7pm at 9th Ward @ Babeville. PechaKucha Night began in Tokyo in 2003 as an event for designers to share their work, now a global event held in 900 cities around the world. It expanded in focus, gathering local creatives from many fields to share their passions in a unique, concise format: 20 images for 20 seconds each/ a 6' 40" dose of ideas from each presenter.

A World Premiere Opera

June 10 + 12, 2016, at Shea’s Performing Arts Center/ Buffalo Theatre, “SHOT!” by Persis Vehar about the 1901 Buffalo assassination of President William McKinley. Founded in 2004, the Nickel City Opera is Buffalo’s only major opera company producing full-scale operas, complete with costumes, sets and full orchestra.
