With advances in digital filmmaking, more and more movies are being made in St. Louis and environs, but the opportunities for moviegoers to see that work are scarce, because few of the films ever screen commercially.
August 20-22 + 27-29, 2021 at Brown Hall Auditorium, Washington University, Forsyth Blvd at Chaplin Dr. 2+ weeks presented by TV5MONDE/ produced by Cinema St. Louis, celebrates St. Louis’ Gallic heritage and France’s cinematic legacy. October, 2021 (TBC). Mr Midwest Leather Contest. Annual 3-day weekend for leathermen: Mr Midwest Leather Contest! -title covers 13 Midwest States. April, 2022. Annual event at Tivoli Cinema. QFest uses the art of contemporary gay cinema to spotlight the lives of LGBTQ people.
