August 30 - September 3, 2018. Annual Labor Day Weekend celebrations, 100,000+ crowds; around-the-clock street/ dance parties; parade through the French Quarter. Revelers may shock some tourists (much to their delight!). Events include: Big Dick Contest, FRIDAY Parade, Boys on Parade Strip Contest, Outdoor Concert, Hot Ass Contest, SUNDAY Parade, T-Dance, Midnight Party, Closing Party.
August 31, 2018 (TBC), 2-6pm, the annual Friday of Southern Decadence Weekend at 714 France Street. Matt & Dusty's 10th Bear Gathering at their salt water pool, Jacuzzi and fun surroundings, open to 200 guests. Open bar and "swampatizers." Open bar + borderless bites. Tickets: see website. Proceeds to benefit Vet-a-GoGo, pet care on wheels.
October 26-28, 2018. Annual weekend events help fund Project Lazarus home for people with AIDS. FRI Patron Brunch at Cafe Amelie. SAT MAIN EVENT with performers, costume contest, stage parade. SUN TEA DANCE. Also French Quarter events.
Mid-November, 2018. Four-day weekend, walking-distance venues, low ticket prices. Small and tight and strong. Mostly local, mostly new, all challenging. Art before Commerce. "Downtown, wherever we can squeeze ourselves in around the gentrification." Per show tickets or weekend pass, with exceptions for some shows.

February 28 - March 5, 2019, the all-gay edition of Mardi Gras runs all weekend; non-stop parties/balls; French Quarter coronation of the King Cake Queen. Gay balls begin in January. Bourbon Pub is at the center, open 24 hours/7 days a week. Mardi Gras Parades fill the streets Tuesday March 5th, 2019.
March 5, 2019, 10am-2pm, from Bud Rip's, 900 Piety St. Known for their elaborate/ beautiful costumes, the core group gathers in the Bywater neighborhood each Mardi Gras morning, with the music by the Storyville Stompers brass band. Passing through the Faubourg Marigny and the French Quarter, the parade is joined by additional marchers in costume.
April 11-14, 2019. Annual music festival & parades. Music stages are located at Jackson Square, Woldenberg Riverfront Park, Bourbon St, Royal St, Bienville St, the French Market, St. Mary’s at the Ursuline Convent, and Louisiana State Museum's Old U.S. Mint.
