March 19 - May 28, 2020 in Mexico City. Celebrating all that connects/ makes us aware of our interdependence. Film festivals create empathetic links, bringing the viewer closer to other worlds and deeper understandings; creating more connective spaces to free ourselves from certain modes of thinking and feeling, sharing in genuine collective individualism.
May 2, 2020, 7- 9pm. A teen love story. The introverted Ellie Chu (Leah Lewis) is happy with life: watching classic movies with her dad, and writing papers for her classmates to earn money. But then a jock from school, Paul Munsky (Daniel Diemer), hires her to write love letters to Aster Flores (Alexxis Lemire) - the school's most popular student... and Ellie's secret crush.
June 27, 2020. Annual Saturday parade from 10am until noon at the Angel de la Independencia in Zona Rosa, then go to the Zócalo where there will be more events and entertainment. Other events take place around the city the same week in gay bars, hotels, pubs, and restaurants along wiih special promotions. Around a million people have participated in previous years.
August 16, 2020, 8pm. Nine of the most representative LGBT comedians in True Colors join together for an incredible stand up show: "Cuando pase todo esto".
October 5 - November 1, 2020, online at FilminLatino. Diversity arrives this autumn! Queer Cinema Mexico presents Swedish film premieres, Mexican productions, live talks and a concert by ShitKid. Each weekly film will be accompanied by discussions with the filmmakers,plus roundtable discussions with activists and LGBTQ+ community representatives.
December 4-12, 2020. Brimming with rich culture and awe-inspiring architecture Mexico City can be hard to experience it all in one trip, so we’ve lined up plenty of big and hidden gems. We’ll visit ancient pyramids, take walks through interesting neighborhoods, enjoy a wide variety of arts, and have delicious food and drinks along the way. Next date: April 2-10, 2021.
